About

I’ve spent more than two decades helping businesses make decisions about customers, brands, growth and change — from senior marketing and strategy roles to advisory work with entrepreneurs and owner-led businesses.

What I’ve learned is that the hardest business questions usually aren’t solved by adding more information. They’re solved by understanding the situation clearly, asking better questions and knowing what deserves attention.

My work today spans owner-led businesses, with a particular interest in real estate development and the role customer insight can play in creating better housing products.

That’s the perspective I bring to Spicer & Company.

Experience helps you cut through and see what matters.

Experience from different sides of the table

Strategy is more useful when it’s grounded in the real world.

More than two decades in senior marketing, strategy and leadership roles; working on questions about customers, brands, positioning and growth.

Business leadership

Years of teaching strategy, marketing and communications have reinforced something simple: if an idea can’t be explained clearly, it probably isn’t clear enough yet.

Teaching & Communication

Today, I bring that experience directly to entrepreneurs and owner-led businesses without layers of process, jargon or a large consulting team.

Advisory perspective

Working together

Straightforward, curious and practical.

I want to understand how the business really works, what’s already been tried, where the tensions are and what may be getting overlooked. Good advice starts with listening before recommending.

I ask a lot of questions

You won’t get a hundred-slide Powerpoint presentation or a cloud of jargon. The aim is to leave you with clearer thinking, a useful point of view and practical next steps you can actually act on.

I keep the work usable

The work should make the business feel clearer, not more complicated.
